Hello, and welcome to the website of the Crawford County Circuit Clerk's Office. Our intention with this site is to provide information that is convenient, interesting and beneficial to the citizens of Crawford County. It is our mission to serve the citizens of Crawford County and the participants in the judicial system in a courteous, timely, efficient and ethical manner.
Approximately $2 million in child support and maintenance is processed and disbursed annually by the Crawford County Circuit Clerk's Office. Payments received by this office are recorded and mailed the same day.
Effective October of 1999, payments made pursuant to income withholding orders and those that are involved with the Illinois Department of Public Aid became processed by the new State Disbursement Unit (SDU) in Carol Stream, Illinois. This office, however, continues to maintain files and court orders and also continues to record payments processed by the SDU. Since its inception, there have been numerous problems with the state system. Customer service, for the most part, remains on the local level, and my staff and I are here to assist you to the extent that we are able under the law.
The Crawford County Circuit Clerk's Office handles only tickets issued within
Crawford County. This office is responsible for the maintenance of records and the collection of fine monies.
Payment for fines may be made with cash, money order or certified check. Most traffic cases are retained for 2 years, then destroyed pursuant to Statute. Other cases are held for a longer period of time.
